Man Eating Shark

Just thought I would share pictures of the Shark dog sweater. All the trick or treaters LOVED his outfit. I think that he liked it too.

Update!

We went to get our Harry Potter books! I figured it was my last chance to stand in line waiting for it so I gathered some friends from knitting and we wandered around Barnes and Noble knitting.

Here I am working on the Gryffindor sock:

Here is Eileen working on a cute summer top for her daughter:

Here is Sandy wearing and knitting the Clapotis in Lilac Microspun (she copied Julie too...just not the same color):

Here are our wristbands (Sandy and I had pre-ordered, so Eileen was in another line):

On Sunday, we had our regular knitting group and Sandy tell us anything to us without drawing a picture to accompany the story.

Sunday July 8

We have decided to try Jason's Deli (2702 E Fowler Ave, Tampa, FL
(813) 903-0017) for knitting this Sunday. It is right around the corner from Panera. The food is pretty good, nice lighting and lots of space for us to sit around in! There used to be a Silent Dinner there every other week, so they are used to people just sitting around. And most of all, they have fountain sodas with free refills for Sandy! Meeting time is 4pm as usual.

Some my my older WIPS

I am known for starting projects and then getting bored with them after a while. They why do I like starting big projects like blankets. Let me just say I started these before I really knew about other yarns outside of Walmart and Michael's.

I know I have mentioned the blanket my mom made for me when I was younger. She made one for my brother and my sister as well. I couldn't decide on what colors I wanted so she made it rainbow and VERY bright. It is made out of Red Heart.
Crochet blanket

This is the first project I started on after I re picked up crocheting. This was also the first pattern I EVER tried. It took me a long time and a lot of help from Stephanie to get the pattern from curling on itself (I think I kept decreasing stitches somehow) My mom liked how this was turning out so well she took it over from me. I have yet to start working on this blanket since.
Crochet blanket

This is the Kittens in a Row. I started this blanket when my mom took the above blanket from me to work on it. I got the pattern from one of my books, however it is found online as well. It is made from simply soft.
Crochet blanket

Here is the fisherman's throw I started. It is out of Caron's one pound in soft sage. I saw this color in the store and was all ooo that is pretty *yank* Now I can not even stand to look at this color. I need to make a lot more squares to make it a decent size. These are the few squares that I have put together.
Crochet blanket

I saw this pattern in one of my books and I really liked it. It is made out of red heart. The colors make it look like fourth of july and not christmas.

To reassure you I have finished some projects but these are my big ones that have been hanging out for a while.

Pics of WWKIPDay

We had a great time...

I was a bit worried at 10:05am when it was just me and Sandy (the event started at 10am)...

Me waiting for knitters on WWKIPDay

throughout the day there were about 15 people who came out to knit with us at the mall and we recruited some new members to our group! Here are some pics....

WWKIP Day

I just wanted to put a quick post up saying thank you to all who came out to support WWKIP Day. We had a great outcome (a total of 15). We met some great new friends and were able to show our love for yarn to many bystanders.

Thank you all!

Knitting at Kelly's

Our knit group usually meets at the local Panera Bread for knitting, but we decided to mix it up and meet at my house. It was just me and Sandy (Sheila couldn't make it> and so it was the Knitting Duo in action!

We chatted a lot and watched Night at the Museum while working on our socks. We each made a snack, and would you believe we both made cream cheese based dips? Hers was a dip for apples and mine was Hawaiian Spread for crackers. Sandy ate her first Triscuit and didn't like the texture so I pulled out some Club crackers which were more to her liking.

We watched Sunrise Earth....

At one point, there was nothing on TV and we tried to knit to Sunrise Earth on Discovery HD, but it was boring so we switched to the music channels that are included on my cable system (it's like radio on the TV). It got real hot so John was nice enough to turn on the fan.

John turning on the fan for us

Here is Sandy pretending to knit for the camera (we really didn't do a lot of knitting, but we usually don't, we spend more time chatting).

Sandy pretending to knit for the picture

Even Buster got in on the knitting....checking out Sandy's yarn that we wound and even trying to knit some on her blanket! HAHA!

Later in the evening we ordered Chinese food and got on Skype (my Skype name is Purlygirl75) with several new friends (Kat, Marly, Shannon, Teri, and Natasha). At one point the videophone (vp) rang so John tried to chat on the vp while we were on Skype, but there was too much going on!

A lot was going on...

All in all we had a great time. Next time we have a knit night at someone's house, it will be Sandy's turn! And hopefully by then she will have downloaded Skype!
